ABOUT SHORTLAND IMAGINE EARLY LEARNING & CHILDCARE


Welcome to Imagine Early Learning & Childcare Shortland. Our centre is a purpose-built facility providing care and education for children aged six weeks to 6 years.

 

Shortland Imagine Early Learning Centre provides high quality care and education for children aged 18 months to 5 years and Before and After School Hours care for Primary school aged children. With its ideal location on the grounds of Shortland Public School, it provides a one-stop place for parents for both their school age and younger children. The operating hours 6.30 am to 6.30 pm weekdays.

Our centre has a distinct small community feel about it, with beautiful natural elements both indoors and outdoors.  A wide range of activities are provided to allow children’s creativity to flourish, for cognitive skills to develop and social and emotional skills to grow.  Open ended resources allow the imagination to take off, and problem-solving skills to be practiced. Our environment allows children to fully immerse in sensory play that involves mud, grass, goop, stones and sticks! When you pick your child up from Imagine Early Learning Shortland, we hope the first thing you will see is a great big happy smile, not the paint splattered hands and hair!

Our educators listen carefully and watch closely to gauge the interests, strengths and needs of each child. Reflective practice forms the basis on which educators plan programs that support each child to develop to their full potential. 

Our educators work closely with the Kindergarten teachers in ensuring the transition to school is a positive one for our preschoolers.  Whilst we do feel a twinge of sadness saying goodbye to our older preschoolers when they leave at the end of the year, we also feel pride in seeing them so full of confidence to embark on their next learning journey at school.
